Vision
Creating new approaches for new music
A Bolt from the Blue is an artist-led international platform where new music, interdisciplinary creation and artistic innovation converge. Founded and artistically directed by guitarist Pierre Bibault, the platform brings together composers, performers, researchers, institutions and creative partners to imagine, develop and produce ambitious artistic projects across disciplines.
Emerging from contemporary music and live performance, A Bolt from the Blue embraces artistic research, collaborative experimentation and innovation as essential drivers of creation. It cultivates environments where artistic excellence, curiosity and unexpected encounters foster new forms of dialogue between artists, institutions and audiences.
Through performances, recordings, films, publications and educational initiatives, the platform develops projects that transcend traditional boundaries between disciplines. Each production is conceived as an opportunity to commission new work, encourage meaningful collaborations, explore emerging artistic practices and expand the ways contemporary music can be created, experienced and shared.
More than a production platform, A Bolt from the Blue acts as a catalyst for artistic exploration — transforming ideas into lasting collaborations, connecting creators across disciplines and developing projects that challenge conventions while leaving a meaningful cultural impact.
